About The Archdiocese of San Antonio Chapter
The Archdiocese of San Antonio extends to the 18 counties surrounding San Antonio and Bexar County. The 11,000 Knights in the 80 Councils of the Archdiocese are led by Diocesan Deputy Jim Wade.
Jim Wade is appointed by the Supreme Deputy, Carl A. Anderson, and is responsible for development of the order through District Deputies who each support several Councils. The Archdiocese supports State and Supreme iniatives in membership, fundraising, programs, vocations support, and education and training.
The Councils in the Archdiocese of San Antonio are formed into a Chapter, known as the ASA Chapter. The Chapter is led by President Rudy Escamilla, of St Gregory's Parish, and member of Immaculate Conception Council 4140.
Each Grand Knight and the officers of the Council are invited to monthly meetings of the Chapter, which conducts the Bishop Flanagan Classic annually, as well as other events in support of the Archdiocese and Parishes.
Bishop Tom Flanagan has been a Priest and a brother Knight for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese, he served as the Knight's Chaplain at the Archdiocesan and State level. Bishop Flanagan embodies the spirit of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism and gives unwavering support to the Knights of Columbus.
